Developmental Editing

Your story has potential. Let’s make sure it reaches it.

You’ll receive a detailed voice note breaking down your manuscript’s structure, pacing, character depth, and narrative impact — the length tailored to your word count, because every manuscript deserves the time it actually needs. Follow that with a one-hour face to face session on Google Meet to talk through everything, ask questions, and leave with a clear path forward.

Backed by a Bachelor’s in English Creative Writing and a Master’s in Popular Fiction Writing and Publishing, I specialize in helping writers clarify their vision and strengthen their storytelling. This isn’t a form letter. This is someone who read your manuscript, thought deeply about it, and is going to tell you the truth.

What you get:

  • A detailed voice note tailored to your manuscript length

  • One hour Google Meet follow up session

  • Honest, actionable feedback on structure, pacing, character, and narrative impact

I take on a maximum of two full manuscripts and 1 short story per month. When spots are full a waitlist is available.

One Chapter Feedback

One chapter. One honest read. Everything you need to know.

You don’t need to finish the whole manuscript to know something is wrong with it. You can feel it in the chapter you keep rewriting. The scene that never quite lands. The opening that isn’t opening anything.Send me one chapter — any chapter — and I will tell you exactly what it is doing and what it isn’t.This is not a line edit. This is a developmental read of a single chapter — the same quality of attention I bring to full manuscripts, applied to one piece of your work. You will receive a detailed voice note breaking down what the chapter is doing structurally, where it is working, where it isn’t, and specifically why. No vague encouragement. No generic feedback. A real editorial diagnosis of the chapter you chose. If you want to talk it through, add the Google Meet upgrade and we will spend thirty minutes going deeper.

This service is for you if:

You are mid-manuscript and something isn’t working but you cannot name what it is. You have a chapter you have rewritten four times and it still feels wrong. You are at the beginning and you want to know if the opening is doing what openings need to do before you write 80,000 more words. You are not ready for a full developmental edit but you need more than the feedback your writing group can give you.

This service is not for you if:

You want validation. You want someone to tell you it is perfect. I will tell you the truth about your chapter — warmly, specifically, and with full respect for the work you have done — but I will tell you the truth. If that is not what you are looking for right now this is not the right service.

What you get:

Base · $26.00 · 2 week turnaround — A detailed voice note with full developmental feedback on one chapter of your choosing — A short written summary of the key points so you have something to refer back to while you revise

With Google Meet upgrade · $52.00 · 4 week turnaround — Everything in the base service — A 30 minute Google Meet to talk through the feedback, ask questions, and leave with a clear revision plan

Word count limit: Up to 5,000 words per chapter. If your chapter runs longer, get in touch before you submit and we will work it out.

How it works: Submit your chapter as a Word document or Google Doc via the form at checkout. Tell me one thing — what do you most want me to pay attention to? That is all I need. I will do the rest.

A note on why this exists:

A full developmental edit is a significant investment — financially and emotionally. Not every writer is there yet. This service exists for the writer who is serious about the work but needs a lower-commitment entry point. If after receiving your chapter feedback you want to move to a full manuscript edit, the $26 you spent here applies toward the full service price.

Consider it a first conversation.
