Introduction to Astrology Part 1: The Wheel as a Stage
Imagine the sky at the exact moment you were born. A wheel of stars expansive and hypnotic—clustered together yet divided into twelve rooms. Each on a stage where a performance in honor of you is held. Together, they form the architecture of you birth chart. And just like an act of a play, each room holds a distinct purpose, a fell, and a ruling sign which set up the tone of your story.
The Performance Begins.
We enter the scene through the first house, the house of self. This is where your rising sign calls its home— the mask, the aura, the way you are reflected in the eyes of your audience. This is the tone that sets up the rest of the experience, the opening scene that prepares you for every moment that is to follow. Aries, the sign of initiation, rules here, giving this house the energy of a firey ritual. This is the way you step into the world, and the crown that you will wear throughout your whole life. This house is where your character is given name.
Now that you named and initiated we step into the space of value. What is your worth, what is the value of your character. While the scene of the second house seems to focus on money, and possessions it holds a deeper interpretation in the deeper truth of what brings you stability. This is the stage that Taurus rules. Study and grounded Taurus works to remind us that self-worth is the soil from which your abundance grows. This is the stage of your treasures, what it is that you wish to protect and why.
With your worth determined you find yourself thrust into the third house— the realm of communication. Whew is where you find your voice and the community it belongs to. This scene features your siblings, your neighborhood and the basis of your daiuly thoughts. This scene is shaped by the energy of Gemini—curious and clever always looking for a common ground. Here stories come alive, and your questions and chatter are welcome and safe.
From here you find the scene of your home, nestled tightly within the fourth house. This is the space of ancestry, family, and intimacy, the perfect shell for the tender and protective Cancer. Cancer leads this scene pulling us toward memory, comfort and belonging. The fourth hose is the foundation—the soul beneath your feet and the stories that hum within your blood. You do not need to see, or hear them they simply exist there within you.
